Memphis Grizzlies sign Desmond Bane to five-year, $207 million deal

It is the richest contract that has ever been signed by a basketball player for the Horned Frogs, and it is apparently one of the highest contracts that have been agreed to during this free-agent signing season. Bane has had an outstanding beginning to his professional career, as evidenced by the fact that he had an average of 21.5 points, 5.0 rebounds, and 4.7 assists throughout the 2022-23 season.

Over the course of his three years in the NBA, Bane has amassed an impressive shooting percentage of 46.9 percent from the field, 42.5 percent from beyond the arc, and 88.5 percent from the charity stripe. He has established himself as a sniper for the Grizzlies and as one of the best shooters in the game. Additionally, this deal makes Bane the first player in Grizzlies franchise history to accept to terms of a contract worth more than $200 million. The point guard, who was suspended for 25 games for conduct that was detrimental to the league, will continue to be a key member of a youthful core for the team that also features the forward Jaren Jackson Jr. During the first round of the 2020 NBA Draft, the player known as Bane was chosen with the 30th overall choice.
