The “John Wick” trilogy is “organically” giving birth to a cinematic world, says Joe Drake, head of Lionsgate’s Motion Picture Group. During an earnings conference on May 25, 2023, Drake shocked the “John Wick” fandom with a shocking revelation. Drake said a fifth installment of “John Wick” will be released.

Though he didn’t share any new information about Chapter 5 that would pique moviegoers’ interest, the chairman did announce that the franchise’s first spinoff would hit theaters in 2024, followed by two more TV series, one of which would be a prequel series called “The Continental.”

As you know, Ballerina will be the first spinoff to be published the following year, and now it’s confirmed. Drake told prospective investors, “We’re in development on three others, including five, and the television series, The Continental, which will be airing soon.” When the fifth picture is out, the expansion of the world will be natural because it will have developed organically from how we’ve started telling those tales. But you can depend on John Wick to maintain a consistent velocity throughout.

Taking set in the same world as John Wick, “Ballerina” stars Ana de Armas (“Knives Out,” “The Gray Man”) as a Ruska Roma assassin who trains at the same academy as John Wick. Viewers of “John Wick: Chapter 3 – Parabellum” saw that the Ruska Roma are renowned for taking in orphans and training them in deadly arts like wrestling, ballet, and more.

The character, played by De Armas, learns new skills to exact vengeance on the gang of assassins that killed her family.

‘John Wick 5’: The World’s Deadliest Assassin Returns

Knowing that “Ballerina” stars Anjelica Huston, Ian McShane, and Lance Reddick (who died away in March 2023), we may assume they will return as The Director, Winston Scott, and Charon, respectively.

The answer to your question is “yes,” Keanu Reeves will return to the character of John Wick in the forthcoming film “Ballerina.” Norman Reedus (from “The Walking Dead”) and Gabriel Byrne (from “The Usual Suspects”) are just two of the well-known performers that have joined the cast of “Ballerina.” New additions to the John Wick canon might come from any of these performers.

Warning: The Next Chapter of John Wick Has Spoilers

In all likelihood, Lionsgate will produce “John Wick: Chapter 5.” Worldwide sales for Chapter 4 reached $429 million by the end of May 2023. Chapter 4 is the company’s sixth highest-grossing picture overall, after “The Hunger Games” and the other “Twilight” films. Despite Winston Scott and the Bowery King’s last appearance at a cemetery marked “John Wick,” Lionsgate could not kill off its sacred cash cow in such a straightforward manner.

The first four movies may be seen alone, yet they all fit into a larger story. To stop the 12 strong crime leaders responsible for everything that happens in the Wickiverse, John Wick has no choice but to bring down the whole High Table. Is there anything more John Wick can do?

The Lionsgate chair has said that the next spinoff series will contribute to the plot of Chapter 5, so we will need to view them before making any predictions.
