Keanu Reeves' First Public Show in 20 Years Is With Dogstar Band

At the BottleRock Napa Valley event in 2023, Keanu Reeves got back together with his old rock band, Dogstar.

For the first time in public in more than 20 years, the star of "The Matrix" played bass with the band.

Robert Mailhouse, who was also in his band, gave Reeves some advice before he played in front of a live crowd.

"He was just very happy. "Listen to the music," he said. Just be in the song, and everything else will work out,'" he told the San Francisco Chronicle.

In 1991, Reeves and Mailhouse met at a grocery store and became friends. This was the start of Dogstar.

Reeves is the band's bassist and back-up singer, and Mailhouse plays the drums and other rhythm instruments.

Gregg Miller became the lead guitarist and singer for the band a year after he joined.

In 1995, he would leave the band. Bret Domrose joined the band in 1994 as a guitarist and singer.
