Jets' Aaron Rodgers wise to save uniform numbers.

In his limited time as a Jet, Aaron Rodgers has done a lot of things correctly.

He made many wise statements in his news conference and, for the time being,

appears to be ecstatic to be moving to the chaotic city of New York.

Hats off to Joe Willie right now: To lend Rodgers his number, which he has worn during his entire NFL career in Green Bay,

was a remarkably kind gesture. That it didn't even occur to Namath as being particularly charitable a gesture is probably a measure ... how long he has been famous and how effortlessly he has managed it 95% of the time.

In January, Namath said to WFAN's Brandon Tierney and Tiki Barber, "I'd sure love Rodgers if he's there.

" Yes, I want him to wear his identification. We have established ourselves, and Aaron Rodgers, God be with him, is respected much.
