HBO Is Using Raunchy Photos Of Lily-Rose Depp To Promote New Series ‘The Idol’

HBO's new series The Idol has garnered a lot of attention even though it hasn't yet made its debut. The adage "all publicity is good publicity" may not apply to The Idol, as allegations from earlier this year purportedly cast series creator Sam Levinson in a frightening light.

The first complete teaser for the series, in which Lily-Rose Depp stars as the scantily dressed pop sensation Jocelyn, was on the other end of the newsmaking spectrum.

When was the last truly-f******-nasty, nasty bad pop girl? is a line that is spoken in the upcoming drama. With the series set to premiere in just a few weeks — on June 4, which is the week after both Succession and Barry conclude their brilliant four-season runs — HBO is undoubtedly doing their part to build anticipation for the show.

Along with Depp as Jocelyn and The Weeknd as Tedros, The Idol also features Troye Sivan, Jane Adams, Dan Levy, Jennie Ruby Jane, Eli Roth, Rachel Sennott, Hari Nef, Da'Vine Joy Randolph, Mike Dean, Hank Azaria, Melanie Liburd, Tunde Adebimpe, Elizabeth Bekley, Nico Hiraga, Maya Eshet, Tyson Ritter, Anne Heche, and others.

On Sunday, June 4 at 9:00 p.m., HBO and HBO Max will broadcast The Idol's first season debut. Make sure to follow Lily-Rose Depp on Instagram, where she presently has over 8 million followers, if you want to stay up to date with her.

Depp has acted in films including The King, Voyagers, and Wolf, but The Idol is his first television appearance. Along with a stellar ensemble that includes Bill Skarsgard, Nicholas Hoult, Emma Corrin, Aaron Taylor-Johnson, and Willem Dafoe, she will also appear in Robert Eggers' adaptation of Nosferatu.
