Grizzlies bench Ja Morant after possible gun footage surfaced on social media

Ja Morant, a key player for the Memphis Grizzlies, has been banned from all team activities after seeming to be brandishing a pistol in a video that was live on Instagram, according to the team.

The Grizzlies tweeted, "He is banned from all team operations pending League review. "At this time, we have no additional comment."

When precisely this occurred, as well as Morant's whereabouts at the time the video was shot, are unknown. Morant has now shown on social media two times brandishing what seems to be a gun.

The Grizzlies player appeared in an Instagram livestream video from a Denver, Colorado nightclub holding what seemed to be a pistol.

Following the event, the NBA punished him for eight games without pay. Police also looked into Morant, but they decided not to press any charges.

The Glendale Police Department said in a statement in March that "GPD was not able to determine that there existed that probable cause existed for the filing of any charges."

The footage was alarming enough to warrant an inquiry, but there wasn't enough proof to convict anybody.
