I love Boerne. We moved here back in 2004 to escape the fast lane, the competitive neighbors and Alamo Heights School taxes. As the song says, “two outta three ain’t bad.” It’s hard for me to figure why everyone is so upset that so many are moving to Boerne and Kendall County.
Personally, first and foremost, I blame the Boerne ISD. Yep, the schools are too darn good. It’s our fault, wanting to give our kids the best.
What were we thinking? That no one else would see this and invite themselves to the party?
And the people, that is a whole other problem. They’re just too nice. Who in their right mind would want to subject themselves to great schools and nice people.
Then you add in the beauty of The Hill Country with all it has to offer, proximity to big cities…why anyone would want to move here is far, far, from me.
So I’ve been reading on social media about the candidates running for our city government, and frankly, I’m concerned. If I hear the word transparency one more time, I think I’ll lose it. And inclusiveness… really?
I want you to show me how you’re going to fix the wrongs and right the rights. That is why you will be elected. It’s called leadership. And leadership has many faces and disguises.
Don’t tell me what I want to hear, what is palatable, I want the truth. And the truth is, the solution is right under our noses. And it’s been there since 2016.
We just aren’t listening and thinking right. I’m talking about a wall. Not just any wall, THE WALL!
It will stop all those immigrating here, especially those Californians. They sell their shacks for a bazillion dollars and are buying up our Hill Country.
Anyone from the west coast moving to Kendall County would have to pay extra taxes based on Kendall County immigration policy. And anyone moving here from any state with a state income tax, just change the name on the check to Kendall County.
If we are so desirable, and we are, make the new ones pay up. Yes candidates, lower the costs for those that built this place that have been the caretakers of years gone by and saved something to savor today.
We will stop this BS about developers buying water from the San Antonio Water System to build their way in our county.
Sheriff Auxier can get his grant monies because the wall will set us apart from San Antonio, that Sanctuary City.
I vote for a wall. I will support anyone that runs on that platform. I mean really, what could go wrong?
Cause all in all, we’re just another brick in the wall…
